published in: Special events | 19 July, 2026
Following the great success of its first edition, “A Magical Pluck” returns – the Smarano International Academy’s creative workshop for children aged 8 to 10. On Saturday, 1 August 2026, from 8:30 a.m. to 3:30 p.m., young participants will enjoy a full day discovering the fascinating world of early music and the harpsichord. Through games, listening activities, hands-on experimentation and creative workshops, children will explore this remarkable historical instrument: how it is made, how it works, and what gives it its distinctive and unmistakable sound. The workshop is designed to introduce younger generations to the rich heritage of early music through an engaging educational experience that encourages curiosity, creativity and attentive listening, transforming musical discovery into a journey of participation and wonder. The workshop will take place at the Smarano International Academy and will be led by harpsichord makers Cinzia Laura Di Mattia and Carla Frezzato, with educational support from Benedetta Porcedda and teachers from the “C. Eccher” School of Music in Cles.
Participation is free of charge, but advance registration is required by 31 July 2026. To register, please email direzione@smaranoacademy.com or call +39 328 8033050. A wonderful opportunity for children to spend a day filled with music, creativity and play while discovering the magic of the harpsichord.
